A big TV industry REVEAL – Kochie’s replacement is apparently ‘confirmed’!
There’s one thing everyone even remotely connected to the world of television wants to know right now – who is going to replace outgoing Sunrise co-host David Koch?
Well, Dr Mumbo has the “confirmed” news, which has been “REVEALED” by Perth Now, part of the West Australian Newspapers family.
Spoiler alert for those waiting for next Monday’s official announcement, to be made live and apparently exclusively on Sunrise… Perth Now has named athlete-turned-TV talent Matt Shirvington.
They’ve cited anonymous “inside” sources, of course.
Have they trumped Sunrise, their Seven West Media distant cousin, in the scoop of the week?!
We’ll find out next week, but the premature announcement coming 3300km from Brekky Central in Martin Place was a bit baffling for Seven insiders.
Dr Mumbo understands there’s something of an invisible wall between West Australian Newspapers and its parent company, Seven West Media, so it’s all a bit awkward.
Also making media ethics-loving Dr Mumbo a tad uncomfortable is how similar the quotes from that anonymous source are to ones that appeared in an article on The Daily Mail.
For what it’s worth, the mail from multiple gossipy TV types in recent days is that Shirvo is a shoe-in.
