Former IDG Communications boss Davy Adams returns to trade media
B2B news provider for travel and pharmacy industries, the Business Publishing Group, has received a major private equity investment and appointed new ownership structure.
The publishing group houses titles including Travel Daily, Cruise Weekly, Pharmacy Daily, travelBulletin and Travel & Cruise Weekly.
Davy Adams re-emerges in trade media
Publishing executive Davy Adams – previously the managing director of technology media company IDG Communications (now Foundry) – will become the Business Publishing Group’s new general manager. The group’s owners, Bruce and Jenny Piper, remain significant stakeholders in the business.
Adams left IDG Communications in 2018. At the time, he spoke of being in talks with a couple of media organisations about management roles, but wasn’t in a hurry.
“We are so happy to have taken this major step, and look forward to seeing Davy and the expanded ownership team work alongside us to continue our vision for the business,” the Pipers said.
“We have loved building the Business Publishing Group since acquiring Travel Daily almost 20 years ago, and believe that taking on new private equity partners will help take the company to the next level.”
Adams said: “I’m thrilled to be taking on this exciting role with the innovative team at Business Publishing Group. And excited to be part of the next chapter of the industry-leading enterprise that Jenny and Bruce have built.”
