The top five companies accounted for 21% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that Electricite de France filed the most batteries patents within the aerospace, defence & security industry in Q4 2023. The company filed 16 batteries-related patents in the quarter, compared with 8 in the previous quarter. It was followed by RTX with 5 batteries patent filings, Lilium (5 filings), and Honda Motor (4 filings) in Q4 2023.
