Ooh Media hires Chris Eyres from SBS as WA sales director

Ooh Media has appointed SBS’s Western Australia sales manager Chris Eyres to lead the company’s sales in the state.

Eyres, who replaces Mark Treasure, will be responsible for driving advertisers and agencies to leverage Ooh Media’s out of home network in the state and across its national digital and classic signs portfolio. Treasure wraps up a 13-year stint at Ooh to return to his media representation business, Media Tonic.

“Chris understands the media, advertising and agency landscape in Western Australia like few others,” Ooh Media head of national sales – agency Wade James said.

“He’s worked at leading national media brands for close to 30 years, has a track record of success in delivering the right solutions for brands at scale and driving return on their marketing spend. We are delighted he’s leading Ooh’s growing sales operation in the state.”

Eyres joined SBS in 2017 as WA state sales manager, where he managed commercial relationships across TV, digital and radio. He also worked at Bauer Media (now Are Media) as WA sales manager for two years, and at Nine Network in various senior sales leadership roles in Perth for some 15 years.

Commenting on this new role, Eyres said: “Ooh has built a strong presence across WA over recent years and as the business moves to a digital first future, I look forward to bringing my media experience and market understanding to Ooh, working alongside the team here, to continue its growth.”

Mumbrella understands SBS is on the hunt for Eyres’ replacement.
