Pedestrian loses star editorial boss Josie Rozenberg-Clarke

Youth publisher Pedestrian has lost its regarded head of editorial, Josie Rozenberg-Clarke, with a search now on for her replacement.

Rozenberg-Clarke announced her exit on LinkedIn late yesterday and told Mumbrella the past six years “have been the absolute best”.

“I’m doing the tree-change thing and relocating my little family down to Hobart,” she revealed.

“It’s been a dream to get down there and have a change of scenery. Work-wise, I’m going to take on some freelance writing, subbing and copywriting and make the most of that flexibility for a few months while I get settled in my new space and decide on my next move.”

Rozenberg-Clarke has been a rising star of media in Sydney for the past decade, working across a number of major Are Media titles before joining Pedestrian in 2017.

“I’ve worked with some of the most brilliantly bonkers minds in the business and we’ve had a ball challenging ourselves to be as spicy as possible every single day,” Rozenberg-Clarke told Mumbrella.

“There’s too many high points to even list, but personally it was incredible to launch Pedestrian’s podcast All Aussie Mystery Hour, with my co-host and former colleague Mel Mason, and clock up over a million downloads, release merchandise and do live shows.

“Working with the PEDESTRIAN team on last year’s election coverage was also a highlight. Once again, we pushed every boundary by dropping the c-bomb on our Scott Morrison defeat post on Instagram. It was PEDESTRIAN’s most-liked post ever and gained us thousands of followers – I’ll never forget hitting ‘post’ on that spicy meatball.

“Every day has been a wild ride and I’m probably going to have withdrawals. But I’ve had an amazing run and it’s time for me to hand the reins over to PEDESTRIAN’s next chief spice officer.”
