Verizon Media has promoted Rachel Page to general manager, sales of Australia and New Zealand, expanding her current national remit to include New Zealand.

Previously, under Page’s leadership as Verizon’s national sales director, the commercial team received a Highly Commended at the 2020 Mumbrella Awards for Sales Team of the Year and are finalists again in 2021.

In her new role, Page will continue to report to Verizon’s vice president of ANZ, Paul Sigaloff, and oversee New Zealand sales director Arnaud Calonne and director of operations and technology Justin Orchard.

Sigaloff said of Page’s promotion: “I’m immensely proud and excited to share the news of Rachel’s promotion to a broader leadership position across the business. It should come as no surprise given the growth trajectory we’re on and the positive impact she’s had on our business over the past year.

“Rachel is an authentic, people-first leader whose passion extends beyond our organisation and into the wider industry. She’s widely respected in market for her human and helpful approach and I can’t wait to see what larger impact she’ll achieve in this new role.”

Page said of her promotion: “I’m incredibly excited and looking forward to my new regional remit. This promotion is a testament to the entire team’s amazing work and commitment to a human and helpful approach in everything they do. I’m looking forward to building on our current momentum and creating more meaningful relationships with new and existing clients.”

Highly active in the industry, Page sits on the UnLtd Melbourne Board, is part of the IAB Mentor program and hosts the Verizon Media Academy virtual masterclass series, a free industry-inclusive educational program.

In May, Verizon announced the sale of Verizon Media to private equity firm Apollo Global Management Inc. for US$5 billion (A$6.45 billion). The company will go forward under the name Yahoo.

Verizon will retain a 10% stake in the company now known as Yahoo, and will be led by current Verizon Media CEO Guru Gowrappan.

Verizon Media is currently comprised of ad tech and media platform businesses, including Yahoo and AOL.
