Dr Mumbo reveals the best work benefit in adland
Sometimes, an offer comes up that is just too good.
This is one of those times. Adland is in a talent crisis. It’s still nigh on impossible to find the right people for the job. So you have to think laterally to reel people in.
That’s an apt description. It’s like fishing. And once you have caught the right person, why not literally take them fishing? But not just any kind of fishing. Spearfishing!
That’s right. If you are lucky enough to be a member of Mutinex, there is a two hour spearfishing adventure with the one and only Henry Innis waiting for you. Innis happens to be quite open about his penchant for the sport.
Sadly, Dr Mumbo has pressure sensitive ears so avoids putting their head under water.
Henry – if you’re reading, is that two hours in the water, or does that include prep time and safety lessons?
But let’s be fair. Five stars to Innis and Mutiny… I mean, Mutinex, for coming up with some new and bold initiatives around employee engagement and culture. It’s well needed in the industry.
It got Dr Mumbo thinking. What other engaging activities could adland businesses provide employees that are based on the hobbies or talents of senior executives?
Here’s a few ideas. The choice is (not literally) yours.
- DJ lessons with KPMG partner Sudeep Gohill
- Hot laps in a Supercar with Seven’s CMO Melissa Hopkins
- Triathlon training with The Payback Project’s James Greet
- Spearfishing with Muntinex’ Henry Innis
- Shoot hoops with Hoyts’ Damian Keogh
I’d rather go Line Dancing with Damian.
